Microkids Related Posts version 2.3 released

Version 2.3 fixes some bugs and adds some new features:

  • Added option to manage search scope: post content, post title, or both
  • Slightly improved the search query when searching for related posts
  • Added a limit of 50 search results to help the plugin work smoothly on larger sites.
  • Fixed some IE6 layout issues
  • Fixed issue where, in non reciprocal mode, after editing a post it would lose its passive connections to other posts
  • Fixed issue where hitting the enter key while in the search box would submit the page
  • Fixed issue where hitting a none character key (like shift, ctrl, etc.) in the search box would trigger the AJAX search

Update to the latest version through the WordPress plugins screen in your wp-admin, or download it from the WordPress plugin repository.

    Hi,

I simply love your plugin!!! Great job.

However, I was wondering if there was a way to spice it up?
A couple of things I’d be interested in right now are:

*Possibility to control how he links appear. right now they appea as regular links, but would it be possible to give it a little payout like adding a tiny thumbnail picture and the post title next to it, or even add the date it was added?

*Possibility to stick the posts where we want in a post. For example, I use NextGen gallery and wherever I want a picture or gallery to appear, I can just call it between those brakets []. It would look something like [post ID:1243] Would that be possible?

Here is one of my posts using your plugin.

Hi, I’m a bit new to this and am having a tough time making this plugin work. It installed ok and it shows up in my “New Post” window not on the actual post. Everything else is ok: my post, my images, everything appears ok after I publish my post but no related links.

Is this code I should be inserting in my index.php file? Please help. Thanks.

    Microkid,

When I’m working on a draft of a post and select some related links that will appear on both posts, the related link appears immediately on existing post.

This means people are able to see the draft of a post before it is complete.

This is bad, very bad. Your plugin should only show links to published posts.

    Hi Microkid!

    It’s a great plugin, but I have a little “problem”…
It would be a smooth entry listing option because it’s faster then i think: “Oh,what is the name of the post…”

Any chance of getting an option to turn off related posts for pages?

Great plugin, by the way. Thanks for it.
